Shared Heartbeats: The Tsinghua Big Shot Loses Control for Me

Lin Wei, a 31-year-old “older” doctoral student, is on the verge of running out of time to finish her degree. Her advisor mocks her for “lacking talent,” and her life feels like a failed 3D-printed model.

At an academic exhibition, an accidental collision knocks her into Gu Yunshen, Tsinghua's youngest academic superstar. It also flips a mysterious switch in his brain. From that moment on, every tear Lin Wei sheds, every sting of an insult, even every cry of pain when she falls on the basketball court, sets off a real storm in Gu Yunshen's body.

She has no idea she has become a sensory code he cannot turn off.

Without a word, he takes her under his wing and protects her. He watches her focus on research and sweat it out on the court, alive and vibrant like a beam of light piercing the gloom of the laboratory.

Until she is accidentally injured, and pain engulfs his entire body.

Until the anguish of her revising her thesis late at night burns through his nerves.

Until, when she draws near, he clearly feels a heartbeat that isn't his own, racing wildly.

“When his neurons can catch every tear she sheds...”

Professor Gu's vaunted self-control is collapsing completely, all because of this “leftover woman” researcher.

“Lin Wei,” he says hoarsely, gripping her wrist. “You've been in my head for a very, very long time.”
