Synopsis

In a plague-ridden village, a pale, uncanny god descended. Silver butterflies danced at his fingertips as he granted the dying a false salvation, while secretly watching humanity slaughter itself in the name of faith. When the truth came to light, enraged believers nailed the false god to a burning cross. As he teetered on the brink of annihilation, the ferryman of Wangchuan arrived beneath the moon. The bone-white lantern in his hand stripped the perpetrators of their memories, but after saving his fellow guardian, he imprisoned him in the name of a contract. One survived by spreading fear, the other grew powerful by devouring memories. In this twisted symbiotic bond, deadly games lurked beneath a show of submission. With the last believer gone, the depleted Wangchuan revealed the secret beneath its riverbed: six identical divine remains lay in silent slumber, while the seventh cycle played out once more in the reflection of stained glass. When the false god drove a silver butterfly into the guardian’s heart, the fragments of memory revealed the original truth: they were two sides of the same divine corruption. Gods do not die. In the eternal cycle, they are slowly devoured by each other’s obsession.

I'm looking for books like *The Rules of Training: From Adopted Son to Accomplice*. Other CPs mixed in are fine, and pure romance or forced love are both okay. I just hope the plot isn't too cringey. Both leads should be strong. No helpless, submissive-wife tropes 😭😭😭
