Late at night in the Oletus Manor, Jack hunted the escapees with his usual elegance, until he came across an unusual prey: the mercenary Naib Subedar.
Naib was nimble, and every escape was marked by a taunting ease. He even deliberately left marks in the fog, as if mocking the hunter’s authority. What caught Jack’s attention even more was the faint scent clinging to Naib, a decaying sweetness he had once smelled deep in his memories.
