Tortured Love: Buddha's Bones Redeem a Fox's Heart

> The aloof Buddhist monk Wuxin has no interest in coming down the mountain to exterminate demons. Instead, he is abducted to Qingqiu by the nine-tailed fox king, Hu Niantao.

> "Little monk, you're so enticing when you chant sutras." The Fox King hooks a finger under his kasaya, and his prayer beads scatter across the floor.

> Wuxin loses himself in a trial of love and breaks his vows, only to be caught red-handed by the imperial Demon Suppression Bureau.

> "Even a venerable monk can have mortal desires?" sneers Mu Mumu, a supporting female character from the authorities, as she offers him poisoned wine. "Drink it, and I'll guarantee your entire temple's safety."

> A hundred years later, the new emperor ascends the throne, and Wuxin has become the Imperial Preceptor. At a palace banquet, Hu Niantao is reborn after sacrificing her tail and kisses the Buddhist mark on his lips before the assembled court.

> "Your Majesty, this humble monk requests permission to execute this demon." Wuxin points his prayer beads at the lover of his past.

> A fox tail pierces his chest in an instant. "How did that cup of poisoned wine taste back then...?"
