Ruined by Desire

Hidden inside a mysterious lottery shop at Jiefangbei in Chongqing is a forbidden game that controls fate. Su Ming stumbles into its endless cycle and discovers that every winning ticket comes at a terrible price: trading the lives of loved ones, the affection of a lover, or his own conscience for wealth and prestige.

Here, fame, fortune, and lust intertwine into a deadly temptation. The lottery shop's blood-written rules keep changing, from “carve a love poem into your lover's ribs” to “your assets are your lifespan.” Every cycle is an ultimate test of human nature. Su Ming collects seven knife scars on his ribs, only to discover that he is merely Gear Number 49 in a mad experiment conducted in 1912. The shop's proprietress, Bai Wei; Lin Wanqiu, with a red mole on the back of her neck; and Zhou Xingzhou, who carries a bronze pocket watch, all play mysterious roles in this game that spans time and space.

As he investigates further, he gradually uncovers the truth about the transit station: it is a brutal proving ground designed to select vessels capable of bearing all of humanity's desires. Caught between desire and conscience, Su Ming struggles on, rewriting the rules again and again, battling his dark reflection in the mirror and clashing with an alien civilization. When he finally earns the title of “Balancer of Value,” he discovers that the real challenge has only just begun. Beyond the rifts between dimensions lies an ancient conspiracy powerful enough to overturn the multiverse.

With endless-loop fiction as its bones and desire as its soul, “Desire Unleashed” tells an epic tale of redemption and awakening amid the fierce collision of rules and human nature. Every cycle questions the meaning of life. When the protagonist stands at the pinnacle of desire, can he hold on to his principles and become the light that illuminates the endless cycle?
