A Star-Crossed Romance: I Followed My Lover to Mars

Interstellar Heartbreak: I Followed My Lover to Mars is a novel blending genetic science fiction with a tragic, blood-soaked romance. The story takes place in the year 2163 of the interstellar era, when silver-blue patterns gnaw at the universe’s genetic chain like betrayal itself. Song Yu, a woman branded as “Test Subject 07,” holds the key gear cipher belonging to Gu Chenzhou and sets out on a journey to Mars.

Gu Chenzhou was once the man who charted the stars for her. Now he is the chief negotiator for the Gene Dreamweavers. Amid the fluorescent sandstorms of Mars, he personally pushes her into an entropy field suspended with fragments of her mother’s genes. It turns out to be the first point in the coordinates he was ordered to monitor her at. Song Yu’s phoenix genes are the key to opening the antimatter well at the core of Mars, while Gu Chenzhou’s identity conceals a startling secret: the Guardian code inside him is a self-destruct program implanted by the Star Trail Organization.

Their ten years of “chance encounters” were nothing but a meticulously designed experiment, and Song Yu gradually comes to realize it. She discovers that she is merely a living weapon in the fight against the Lord of Gears, while Gu Chenzhou has been silently protecting her and setting one “emotional anchor” after another. When the Lord of Gears’ fleet closes in, Gu Chenzhou’s self-destruct program activates. He turns his final tenderness and confession into a matrix of starlight, etching them forever into Song Yu’s heart.

Set against a cosmic requiem of fluorescent sand, the novel portrays the fatal resonance between gears and starlight, as well as the undying love and freedom shared by the two.
