A Thermometer for the Heart

Wen Liang can sense the warmth and coldness of the world: when her performance ranks last, the chill cuts to the bone; when clients make things difficult, the heat burns her heart.

She rises from the bottom of the intern rankings to become one of the “most beautiful heroes in the fight against the epidemic,” yet the elite mock her, saying she doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as them.

She exposes the dark side of the workplace, fights off a corporate siege, and protects millions of lives amid the raging epidemic.

When a young patient presses a stethoscope to her chest and says, “Auntie, your heartbeat is warm,”

only then does she understand: the world’s most accurate thermometer is the warmth of a passionate human heart.
