Apocalypse: Master of the Elite Club

As corrosive rain, like tears of divine punishment, pelted the world, the name of a waiter was etched into the codes of the apocalypse. Lin Jin held a glass of unfinished whiskey, watching the neon lights outside warp into eerie ribbons through the poisonous fog. He once smiled as he served champagne beneath the crystal chandeliers of Yunding Tiangque. Now, aboard an “Ark” floating above the wasteland, he must dance with shadowy mutants, the remnants of the old world, and his own slowly awakening abilities. The club’s swimming pool is still crystal clear, but what it reflects is the abyss of human nature. **Predicament**: Who is he? A server whose name weighs less than dust, walking with his head bowed across carpets swept by the hems of socialites’ gowns. Then fate kicked him into a crack in the System, making him the only human capable of analyzing mutation data. **Turning Point**: He learned to read minds and manipulate others. He could even make once all-powerful elites go pale with a single joke. He hid a bottle of life-saving medicine and gained his first loyalty contract in exchange; he laid traps in the wine cellar and used a bottle of aged cigars to lure out three infiltrators. **Price**: Every leap in his abilities tears his soul apart. He begins dreaming that he has become one of the monsters roaming the night, and wondering whether being a ruler is just another kind of cage. As humanity stands atop the ashes of civilization and looks back at the purple storm that devoured everything, can we still tell who the real “mutants” are?
