Stars Play Among Mortals

The osmanthus blossoms in Tushan fell and bloomed again; the ledgers in the Sutra Repository filled up, page after page. From the very first osmanthus cake, Chen Luo and Rongrong’s fate had been written into the star charts.

He was the young lord of the Chen family, born with Star Eyes that Pierce Illusions. To protect the “truth,” he traveled across the three realms, carrying a promise to her amid flashing blades and clashing swords. She was Tushan’s brilliant strategist, who could see through every heart. Her ledgers recorded forty-nine boxes of osmanthus cakes still owed, while beneath her pale green skirts lay five hundred years of waiting.

When chaos contamination swallowed the Star Sea of Guixu and the illusory laws of the Dark and Light Xuanpin tore through time and space, their love became the sharpest weapon of all. He wielded the Time-Slaying Blade to cut through the rifts in time, just to return to her side. She used the red thread of renewed bonds to tie down the river of karma, certain he would follow the star charts back to her.

During the battle hymn at the Star Mounds, as he awakened thousands of ancestral star mounds, the scent of osmanthus from her hair still lingered on his fingertips. At the final battle in the Primordial Rift, as he drew the Emperor’s Bow of the Firmament, the pale green figure reflected in his Star Eyes that Pierce Illusions was still her.

This is no simple battle to protect the three realms. It is a love letter sealed within the Star Sea of Guixu: from their first meeting in Tushan to their reunion in Guixu, from the helplessness of the “Forgotten Promise Palm” to the fulfillment of “The Burnt Osmanthus Blooms Again.” Their love is more enduring than the stars and more absolute than truth.
