Day One of Shapeshifting: The Bunny Gets Spirited Away by the Wolf King

[Modern fantasy, Wolf King x rabbit spirit, soft and adorable but no pushover heroine, scheming hero who falls deeper and deeper, devoted sweet romance, running away while pregnant] Baibai is a rookie rabbit spirit who has only been transformed for three hours. She lives by three rules: carrots are delicious, dig your burrow deep, and run when you see a big bad wolf. But on the very first day after transforming, she forgot the third rule. Dazed by the headlights, she froze in the middle of the road. A man appeared out of nowhere and saved her. He was handsome, had a lovely voice, and even treated her to the most delicious carrots she had ever tasted. He said his name was Li Jinyan, that his home had more carrots than they could ever eat, and asked if she wanted to go with him. Baibai decided he must be a kind soul sent from heaven. She had no idea that Li Jinyan was the Wolf King of the wolf clan, with more schemes than a beehive has holes. Every spirit in the realm assumed he had brought a rabbit home to keep as emergency rations. Only Baibai sincerely believed that “he’s a good man.” At first, Li Jinyan really did have ulterior motives. But then he realized that this rabbit interpreted his cold smirk as “Big Brother has such a nice temper,” secretly left a carrot she could barely bear to part with on his desk when he worked late, and blushed with her ears perked whenever he came close, saying, “Don’t come so near. My heart’s beating too fast. A rabbit can die if its heart beats too fast.” The Wolf King had schemed his way through a lifetime of things, but for the first time, he found himself at a loss when it came to a rabbit. Well then... no more pretending. Besides, if your emergency rations turn into the one you love, it’s not a bad deal.
