The Demon Lord Above: A Brother-Con's Path to Rebellion

The sunny, chivalrous Xiao Yunche ventures into the perilous deserts of the Western Regions in search of his family's heirloom jade pendant. He doesn't know that what he's pursuing is more than a keepsake: it's also the key to a mystery surrounding his birth, buried for a thousand years. From the shadows, the Demon Lord Ye Yan (Ling Yan) keeps his eyes on him. After a thousand years of searching, all he wants is to protect the elder brother he lost. From the domineering declaration at Chang'an's martial arts arena, “This man is under my protection,” to striking down bandits with thunderous force deep in the desert, to risking his life to protect him in a bloody battle at an oasis... Every seemingly cold-blooded act is driven by the obsessive devotion of a man who has held back his brother complex for a thousand years.

When Xiao Yunche ventures deep into the bandits' lair at Blackwind Fort and sees the jade pendant enshrined on a fiendish sacrificial altar, the Demon Lord's overwhelming power arrives right on cue. Ye Yan bathes the Twelve Linked Strongholds in blood, crushing his powerful enemies with sheer force, all to reclaim what belongs to his elder brother. “Anyone who touches his things will die.” His icy declaration rings across the yellow sands. He tosses back the bloodstained jade pendant, but when his brother demands, “Who are you, really?” he turns away in silence and disappears into the sandstorm. The first signs of their brotherly bond emerge, and suspicion takes root in Xiao Yunche's heart.

But when Xiao Yunche returns with the jade pendant, Chang'an is no longer the prosperous city he left behind. The rumor carefully spun by Imperial Preceptor Xuanyinzi, that he is an accomplice of the Demon Lord, is spreading like wildfire. The martial world is rife with suspicion, the court is enraged, an imperial edict orders his arrest, and he has no one to turn to. The jade pendant is no longer a token of affection: it has become a deadly piece in Xuanyinzi's game, pointing to the “token of the Demon Realm.” As dark currents surge, the Demon Lord crushes an information jade slip in Nine Nether Hall, his eyes glinting with a bone-chilling light. Anyone who dares harm his elder brother will pay with annihilation. Their brotherly bond is only beginning to come to light, and the tables have already turned. A storm sweeping through both court and martial world is gathering beneath the dark clouds over Chang'an.
