The General’s Favorite Little White Lotus

The General’s Special Affection for His Little White Lotus tells a heart-stirring love story. The cold, battle-hardened General Xiao Yixuan catches a glimpse of the graceful, otherworldly physician Shen Xiyue on the battlefield. Like a pristine white lotus, she stands out amid the blood and fire. That day, smoke chokes the air. Xiao Yixuan is wounded and collapses, and through his haze he sees a slender figure running toward him. Shen Xiyue ignores the danger and kneels in the mud to bandage his wound. The focused look on her face makes the battle-hardened general feel his heart race for the first time. “Don’t move. Your wound will reopen.” Her voice is soft, yet firm enough to brook no refusal. Gazing at her fair face, now streaked with blood, Xiao Yixuan understands for the first time what it means to fall in love at first sight. From then on, the general who strikes terror into his enemies goes out of his way to protect the young physician. He quietly follows her when she gathers herbs, brings her hot tea when she stays up late caring for the wounded, and even defies military orders to keep her safe. “Why are you so good to me, General?” Shen Xiyue asks, baffled. Xiao Yixuan simply gazes at her. “Because you’re the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen on the battlefield.”
