Lu Xueqi in the Mist

Lu Xueqi’s childhood was steeped in suffering. The scalds on her wrists from piping-hot soup and the marks left by a broom were the scars of her upbringing. When her adoptive father was hospitalized with a hereditary illness, a blood test showing that their blood types did not match became the key that unlocked a corner of the mystery surrounding her life.

Desperate to uncover the truth about her birth, Lu Xueqi searched far and wide for clues. At last, she learned from a maternity ward nurse who had worked there years ago that she had been switched at birth. Following one clue after another, she set her sights on the chairman of Lu Group.

But when she first joined Lu Group, she found no answers. Instead, she was plunged into an even deeper whirlpool. Her colleagues shunned her, and the heiresses made things difficult for her, leaving her struggling to get by. The archives mysteriously caught fire, key surveillance footage disappeared, and danger shadowed her every step. The chairman’s son secretly helped her, becoming the only glimmer of light on her dark journey. As her investigation went deeper, a shocking truth gradually came to light: the nurse who had been bribed was a relative of her adoptive mother, and the switch at birth had been part of a carefully planned scheme. More astonishing still, the chairman’s son was not his biological child. She was the true heiress of the Lu family.

As lies and truth battled for the upper hand, Lu Xueqi had to face not only the earth-shattering revelation about her birth, but also make a choice amid a tangled web of emotions. Once the fog cleared, could she break free from the shackles of fate and find happiness of her own?
