Reborn as a Cannon-Fodder Demon in Journey to the West, but the Great Sage Insists on Taking Me Along

I was transmigrated into a peach-blossom spirit destined to be beaten to death with a single blow during one of the trials on the Journey to the West. I was named “Zhi Tao,” from the line “The peach trees bloom in splendor, their blossoms radiant.” I don’t understand why they couldn’t pick one of those many poetic, celestial-sounding names, but I respect the choice!! The original owner was a flower fairy in Heaven, banished to the mortal realm and turned into a demon after angering the Queen Mother. Seeing the blood still wet on Brother Monkey’s staff, I promptly pulled out the peaches I’d stashed away. “Great Sage, have a peach! Let me help you speedrun this trial!” Sun Wukong narrowed his fiery eyes. “Little demon, why do you have an immortal aura?” Cold sweat poured down my back as I made up a lie. “I… I found it!” He gave a cold laugh, but put his staff away. From then on, I diligently served as a Journey to the West support character: I sent warnings at Yellow Wind Ridge, and at the Flaming Mountains I borrowed the fan faster than Princess Iron Fan could... That is, until Heaven flew into a rage and sent down divine punishment. The Golden Cudgel rose fearlessly to meet the thunderbolts from the Ninth Heaven. The gods and Buddhas shouted in fury, “You dare, you demon monkey!” Sun Wukong shielded me behind him, laughing wildly and without restraint: “Any demon I choose to protect is off-limits, even to that old Jade Emperor!” He pointed his Golden Cudgel at the heavens. “This little peach-blossom demon is mine!”
