The Sichuan Army Goes Beyond Sichuan

Zhang Zhijun, a modern special forces veteran, accidentally clashes with Japanese forces while on a mission in South Africa. Outnumbered, he dies alongside the enemy. But when he opens his eyes again, he has transmigrated to the years before the War of Resistance against Japan. His new body is also named Zhang Zhijun. He is the son of a landowner in Meizhou, Bashu, and his family owns a modest estate. The original Zhang Zhijun was a patriot, and upon returning to China, he received orders from the Ministry of National Defense appointing him commander of a Sichuan Army regiment. But Zhang Zhijun, who has transmigrated into this body, knows that the Sichuan Army regiment and the Ministry of National Defense are little more than a joke. The Sichuan Army is divided among warlords, plagued by internal strife, while the country is split into rival factions. Knowing how history will unfold, Zhang Zhijun persuades his family to sell their property, raises funds for an army, recruits local militia, and drills and prepares them for war. When the nationwide resistance against Japan begins, he resolutely bids farewell to his family and leads his militia out of Sichuan to fight the Japanese.
