When Lu Qinyin woke up, she felt as though the sky were about to fall. To her horror, she discovered that she had transmigrated into Journey to the West. She had become Sun Wukong's junior sister and Patriarch Bodhi's youngest disciple. When Patriarch Bodhi drove Sun Wukong out of the sect, Lu Qinyin, who had been watching the commotion with barely concealed glee, was bundled off to join him by her own master. Patriarch Bodhi declared, “You two wretches! Once you're out of here, don't tell anyone you were my disciples. You'll bring shame upon me!” Sun Wukong and Lu Qinyin stared at each other. Lu Qinyin: “Wait, there's a good reason to kick Sun Wukong out. He'll cause havoc in Heaven one day and wreak chaos in both the Heavenly Court and the underworld. But what about me? I'm just a cannon-fodder character who happened to transmigrate into this world of gods and monsters!” Sun Wukong and Lu Qinyin hugged each other and wept. One mourned the loss of his master; the other grieved that she would have to fend for herself in this strange and wondrous world. “Junior Sister, would you like to come back to Flower-Fruit Mountain with me?” Sun Wukong extended an invitation to Lu Qinyin. Lu Qinyin cried so hard that bubbles of snot formed at her nose. She shook her head. She didn't want to go; she just wanted to go home. But she had nowhere else to go. So Lu Qinyin nodded. Oh, well. Guanyin Bodhisattva had once told her that all things in the world come together through fate. When it was time for her to return, she would go back naturally. She had a hidden mission to fulfill here!
