The Tortoise Chancellor Plays Chess

A high-stakes gamble completely changes Lin Yan’s fate. In the mysterious East Sea Dragon Palace, he plays a game of chess against Prime Minister Turtle, wagering the rare East Sea Dragon Pearl. After losing, he is reduced to a shrimp soldier and bound by a three-hundred-year contract. The pearl is not only a symbol of power and strength, but also conceals a shocking secret that could overturn the East Sea. The restless Dragon Pearl inside Lin Yan is both the source of his suffering and the key to changing his fate.

Barely after joining the ranks of the shrimp soldiers, Lin Yan is plunged into a cruel life at the very bottom. Yet he refuses to submit. After meeting A Qing, another shrimp soldier who has suffered the same abuse, the two begin plotting in secret. From sensing the undercurrents of the Dragon Palace’s power struggles, to uncovering the mysteries of ancient runes, to carefully preparing for another game of chess with Prime Minister Turtle, every step Lin Yan takes is fraught with danger and challenge.

As the story unfolds, adventures in mysterious waters, fierce clashes with enigmatic forces, and quests for the truth in the cracks between space and time follow one after another. Lin Yan grows through trial after trial, joining forces with his companions to face powerful enemies and gradually uncover the thousand-year-old mystery hidden behind the Dragon Pearl. The struggle for power, the clash of fates, and the resolve to protect what matters take turns on the stage of the East Sea Dragon Palace.
