Farming in the Mist

In Maocun Village, southeastern Guizhou, A Ruo, a Shui girl, is falsely accused of casting a curse and driven out for protecting the terraced fields and resisting opium cultivation. At the brink of despair, she accidentally awakens He Jiu, the remnant soul of a mist spirit, and gains the mysterious power to command mist with her songs. When warlords plunder the forests and poison the waterways, A Ruo carves terraces into sheer cliffs, uses talismans embroidered with horsehair to repel pests, and draws on the rhythm of bronze drums to form a shield of mist. The price of blindness, a pact with the spirit realm, and the schemes of a traitor close in one after another. Can she use her power as a shamaness to revive land corrupted by poisonous weeds and cultivate a pure haven amid mist and gunfire?
