The Heiress Goes to the 1990S, Becomes a Ghost-Raising Corpse Retriever

Strong female lead, supernatural, period setting, ghost hunting, no romance, episodic stories The second daughter of the General's Mansion in the Cangqiong Kingdom, Shi Yi, is struck by lightning and sent to the 1990s. Reincarnating into a corpse? Absurd! From the start, she runs into human traffickers and ends up hanged beneath an old locust tree. Her parents even sell her for two thousand yuan to a man older than her father, all to get bride-price money for her younger brother. Other people transmigrate as wealthy young ladies or into prestigious families, but she has no money at all, and gets turned down for job after job. Struggling to make ends meet while trying to repair a Taoist temple, she takes on all kinds of odd jobs. Well, what can she do? Being poor is her most defining trait. One day she's retrieving a corpse from the river, and the next she's working as a hired guest at a supermarket opening. If it pays, she's happy to do it. As more and more souls gather at the temple, she opens a ghostly trading post. Offerings to ghosts count as incense offerings too, don't they?! The female lead really is so, so, so poor...
