After My Son Became the Top Gaokao Scholar, My Childhood Friend, Dead for Eighteen Years, Came to Claim Him

My childhood friend went into obstructed labor and handed her baby to me just before she died.

“Wujing, you’re the person I trust most. I’m counting on you to raise my child!”

After she died, I raised the baby and endured hardship after hardship.

For eighteen grueling years, I raised my adopted son into the top scorer on the college entrance exam.

Then, on the day of the banquet celebrating his admission, my childhood friend returned with my childhood sweetheart. “Xue Wujing, I can’t believe you raised my son so well!”

“Congratulations! I’m naming you Best Childhood Friend!”

My childhood sweetheart put an arm around her shoulders and looked down at me. “Xue Wujing, Xuanxuan is the daughter of the richest man in the country. We’re taking the child back to claim his rightful place in the family. Here’s thirty thousand yuan as compensation!”

My adopted son looked just as arrogant. “I knew it. How could a prodigy like me possibly have someone like you for a mother?”

I was so furious that I coughed up blood and died on the spot.

Reborn, the first thing I did was send the child to an orphanage.
