King of Hoarding in the Extreme Cold Apocalypse

An icy gale at minus eighty degrees tore the convenience store sign to shreds. The white breath Tang Xu exhaled froze into ice crystals before it could even rise halfway into the air.

He clenched his frozen-purple delivery bag, his nails digging deep into his palm. This familiar feeling of despair was unmistakably the last memory from his previous life, just before his childhood friend shoved him into an ice hole! “Ding! The Frozen Abyss Secret Realm has been activated.”

A mechanical voice suddenly rang in his ear, and Tang Xu’s pupils contracted.

A thirty-story-high space unfolded in his mind: steaks frozen solid, steaming hot pot soup base, a whole row of unopened down jackets, even half a bottle of unfinished iced cola. All! Of! It! Free!

The agony of watching friends and relatives snatch all the supplies from him in his previous life, leaving him to freeze to death beneath a bridge, surged through him in an instant.

He licked his cracked lips, his fingertip brushing over the locator in the space. “Bank vault? Warlord granary? Heh. Starting today, all the supplies in the world are my delivery orders.”

The bitter cold swallowed civilization, but it couldn’t freeze the warmth of everyday life inside his space.

As icicles pierced the last patch of evening glow, Tang Xu climbed atop the frozen corpses to the highest point of the ruins. With two hand warmers given to him by women tucked in his arms, he curled his lips into a fierce smile. “I’m done putting up with this hellish life. Starting today, I, Tang Xu, call the shots in this new Ice Age.”
