Moonlight of the Underworld: A Comeback in Showbiz

“Lin Ruoxi, get out of showbiz! You sang so off-key it sounded like a car crash, and you still dare to livestream?”

Three days ago, a teammate deliberately tampered with her microphone. But who could have guessed that this obscure entertainer, trampled into the dirt, had once been the youngest chief recorder of life and death in the Underworld?

“Ding!”

Memories suddenly came flooding back.

She saw herself poring over documents in her past life, annotating the balance between Yin and Yang, and the poisoned steel pen that pierced her heart outside the Hall of Yama that night.

So her supposed “accidental death” was nothing more than someone’s attempt to stop her from uncovering the truth behind the case of altered destinies...

“Next up, Lin Ruoxi.” The judge tapped the microphone, eyes full of disgust. “If you can’t sing well this time, pack your bags and, ”

“Wait.” She lifted her head, the cinnabar mole at the corner of her eye gleaming an eerie red beneath the lights.

Only then did everyone notice that the timid girl from moments ago now had eyes like a thousand-year-old blade of dark iron. “The song I’m going to sing is ‘Rebirth,’ the one you plagiarized from me three years ago.”

When the spotlights of showbiz meet the Underworld’s register of life and death,

when an obscure entertainer trampled into the dirt raises her soul-judging pen,

those powerful industry executives who ground her into the dirt, the former teammates who kicked her when she was down, and the rivals who bought trending topics to smear her...

will all, in the end, taste the meaning of a line written in her red ink:

“Those who humiliated me in life will kneel before me in death.”
