Locust Blood Erodes Jade

Zhou Huaian, an apprentice at a coffin shop, is forced to don a phoenix crown and red bridal robes and enter a ghost marriage with a blood-jade corpse whose neck bears the same birthmark as his younger sister. On the funeral procession, blood-written characters seep through the locust-wood coffin, paper horses turn into nightmares, and the night watchman dies suddenly. Night after night, he dreams of his mother's screams as she was nailed alive inside a coffin twenty years ago. When the peachwood stake is aimed at the corpse's crown, the blood moon reveals a reflection: pierce the evil spirit, and his sister will turn into an ash moth; spare his loved one, and he will be trapped in a living coffin forever. Beneath the burial shroud lies a Republican-era marriage contract. In the midwife's amber demon eyes is a life-swapping pact. Twelve faces emerge from the old locust tree's bark. Together, they reveal the deadly “Yin-Yang Knot,” a scheme spanning a hundred years. When the life of a loved one hangs on an evil feudal curse, so-called family morality is nothing but a blood-soaked footbinding cloth. The blood of one's own kin, it turns out, is the perfect human sacrifice for a century-old dark art.
