The Son of Heaven of the Seven Provinces' Greenwood in Sui and Tang

At the end of the Sui dynasty, warlords rise across a land in chaos. A young man from the modern era is reborn in the Great Sui as the nephew of Shan Xiongxin, leader of the greenwood outlaws across seven provinces, and the son of Shan Xiongzhong. Strange signs appear at his birth: purple clouds drift in from the east, and the immortal Ziyang declares, "Two stars are destined to save the world in its age of chaos." The other star is Li Shimin, son of the Li family of Taiyuan.

Gifted from childhood with an extraordinary memory, he learns his family's martial arts from Shan Xiongzhong, who holds nothing back. In the tenth year of Daye, Shan Xiongzhong is escorting imperial tribute when Li Yuan schemes to have him killed. The boy witnesses his father's brutal death and swears amid a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood: "I will not rest until the Li Tang dynasty is destroyed!"

As flames of war spread across the land, he lays down "Three Rules of Discipline and Eight Points of Attention" and forges an iron-blooded army. At Wagang Stronghold, he outwits Li Mi; outside Luoyang, he defeats Wang Shichong; and before Hulao Pass, he faces Li Shimin in a clash of two destined stars. At last, over a road paved with bones, he establishes a new dynasty with the era name Yongchang.

After ascending the throne, he personally leads a campaign against Goguryeo. His forces fight for a hundred days beneath the walls of Liaodong City before he finally brings the remains of 300,000 Sui soldiers back to the Central Plains. He kneels for three days before the imperial temple, personally covering each set of bones with a red banner. "Your spirits are not far away. Today, you return home!"
