Survive by the Rules: Don’t Get the Wrong Idea, I’m Really Not Running the Show

From the start, player number 099, Li Zehan, is bound to the “Rule-Based Survival” System and forcibly thrown into a world of endless instances.

He only wanted to keep his head down and survive unnoticed. But in his very first instance, the System mistakenly labels him “The Calm One: an exceptionally steady core who controls the entire field.”

He randomly picks a skill, and the System declares: “Godlike judgment.”

He hesitates and decides not to pick one, and the System declares: “A global strategist who intervenes in the whole game.”

He grits his teeth and picks the wrong one, and the System declares: “A groundbreaking new method for beating the game!”

Inside the instance, players frantically plan around him.

In the livestream, the viewers flood the chat: “This guy is so steady! He’s controlling the whole game!”

The System: “We recommend that the other players... cooperate with Player 099 to advance through the instance.”

Meanwhile, Li Zehan says:

“I’m really... just good at looking calm.”

“You, the System, and the chat, please stop misunderstanding me!!”

Unfortunately, no one listens.

He doesn’t want to control the game, but step by step, he is pushed onto a pedestal.

Until one day, even the System no longer dares to evaluate him. Because:

He has become a variable that cannot be classified.
