I'm Mentally Ill, So What?

When Lin Wan is discharged from the psychiatric hospital, she clutches her still-valid certificate of mental disability and faces the wary stares of neighbors who look at her as if she were a plague. Once driven to a breakdown by workplace bullying, she is now clearer-minded than anyone. When “madness” becomes the sharpest shield, those who trampled her dignity will ultimately pay for their prejudice.

When the neighbor couple falls to their knees, begging for mercy amid online harassment, and her parents are driven frantic by debt collectors, she flips through the Criminal Law and smiles.

“What you’re afraid of isn’t a madwoman. It’s a madwoman who refuses to stay silent.”

In this revenge plot disguised as madness, every move is calculated with knife-like precision. As fragments of her torn-up medical records flutter toward the old buildings slated for demolition, she pulls the intact diagnosis from her drawer. It clearly reads, “Clear consciousness, no cognitive impairment.” The most frightening thing was never the illness. It’s when a clear-minded person decides to turn prejudice into a blade and cut open the hypocrisy and callousness of this world.
