This book has collected and sorted out more than 500 traditional Chinese classic ointments, and classified them into ten categories: nourishing ointments, rheumatism and pain ointments, phlegm-relieving and cough-relieving ointments, spleen-strengthening and qi-reinforcing ointments, commonly used ointments for exogenous infections, laxative and antibacterial ointments, topical ointments for scabies, beautifying ointments, ointments for facial features, and other ointments. According to the provisions of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, each ointment recipe is written according to [Prescription] [Preparation] [Function and Indications] [Indications] [Usage] [Source]. We have converted the dosage of each medicine according to the current international common dosage units to facilitate readers to learn, understand and choose to use. For some Chinese medicinal materials that are explicitly prohibited due to animal protection, they have been replaced according to relevant national policies and regulations; for some prescriptions of Chinese medicinal materials that do not comply with hygienic habits or are no longer commonly used, the medicines are directly deleted or the prescriptions are not included. This book strives to be scientific, standardized and reasonable on the basis of respecting history.
