His Heart Is Like Iron, and Our Days Together Are Over

In the seventh year of my marriage to Marquis Chu, Chu Huaiyu went to the Xiongnu to bring back the woman he had once loved, who had abandoned him when he became disabled. She even framed me, claiming she had left in a fit of anger because I had robbed her of her chastity. To avenge her, Chu Huaiyu demoted me from wife to slave and subjected me to endless humiliation while I was pregnant. After losing my child, I begged the Old Madam to let me leave. But Chu Huaiyu regretted it. When he learned that his beloved had framed me, he killed her with his own hands, then traveled thousands of miles to find me and beg for forgiveness. But my heart had long since turned cold. In the end, he died on the battlefield, and was buried with the token that had marked our love.
