Serving the Lord: Storms Rise in Weicheng

[Alternate Setting] [Pure Historical Romance] [Arrogant Princess] [Warrior from a Foreign Land] [Lowborn Slave] [Love-Struck General]

A hostage journey takes Qu Tang to a distant, foreign land, where three romances begin.

The first is with a warrior from the Wuyou Kingdom. Though a womanizer by nature, he gradually falls for her as they spend time together. Over the years, they come to understand and love each other. But she is a princess of Da'an, and carries her country's honor. No matter how much she loves him, they can never be together. Even so, when civil strife breaks out in Wuyou, Batu'er, a warrior of Wuyou, is willing to give his life to save her.

The second is with a slave from Wuyou. His life has been hard since childhood. After escaping Wuyou, he happens upon Qu Tang on the road. At first, he only wants to repay her kindness. But after Qu Tang escapes Wuyou, he falls deeply in love with her, though he never dares confess his feelings. To get closer to her, he goes off to war and earns great honors, eventually becoming a Senior General of the Left Guard of Da'an.

The third is with a general of Da'an. A fleeting glimpse of her when he was young was etched deep in his heart, and he secretly vowed to love her. He travels a thousand miles to Chequ, sees her again, and can barely contain his joy. After he returns home, the Emperor decrees that the princess is to marry him, an outcome he never expected. But matters at court are never so simple.

“I’ll protect you. You have to believe me!”
