The Cold Moon's Embers

[Synopsis]

When the sword that slays demons and vanquishes evil is pointed at the person he trusts most...

Shen Yanbing, the Moon Sect’s senior disciple, holds absolute faith in his master, Wuyue, and carves a path through every obstacle in the fight against demons. But a rumor that “his master is a demon” cuts through the barriers of his world like a blade. When a Truth-Revealing Pill forces the truth into the open, his admiration crumbles in an instant: could the hero who led humanity in resisting demons and monsters really share a bloodline with the demon clan he despises?

Amid pain and confusion, Shen Yanbing chooses to distance himself. Yet when the Moon Sect faces extinction, he witnesses Wuyue using her own body as a shield, fighting to defend their home against the iron hooves of demons and evil monsters. As blood soaks her robes, he suddenly sees the pure heart concealed beneath the labels imposed by race. Good and evil, he realizes, are never determined by bloodline, but by the conviction to protect others.

From shattered faith to a resonance of souls, master and disciple cross the barriers between their races amid clashing blades. When Shen Yanbing’s sword once more harmonizes with Wuyue’s demonic power, what they strike down is not only their enemy, but society’s prejudice against those who are “not of our kind.” A bond that begins in misunderstanding and ends in understanding unfolds across a fantastical continent, a pure love song that transcends race: You are my obsession, the one I will fight to vanquish every evil spirit for, and the light I would give my life to protect.
