Records of the Great Ming: The Heavenly-Ranked Demon Exorcist

Lu Ze transmigrates to the Zhengde era and becomes a fake Taoist in a dilapidated temple.

His unscrupulous master leaves him a mess before running off: a sect, three people, and a bag of tricks for swindling people with talk of “exorcising demons and vanquishing evil.”

He plans to make a living telling fortunes and coast through life, until one day he takes a job from the Jing residence.

Miss Jing is possessed. Black handprints appear on the window paper, the copper lamp goes out by itself at midnight, and black mist creeps out from under the door.

He casually sticks up an expired talisman, and the dark spirit retreats.

His junior sister, Lin Wan, bites her finger and draws a crooked blood talisman. The dark spirit promptly shrinks back into its Host.

Lu Ze: Wait... This isn’t how the story is supposed to go!

It turns out demons really do exist in this world.

And it turns out that his junior sister, who’s underdeveloped and thinks about roasted pork knuckles all day, is the real exorcism genius.
