The Glow That Got Away

[The short-lived, gentle yet mischievous boy Shao Mingsheng] x [The insecure, sensitive yet strong and clear-eyed girl Xu Xihan] They promised to celebrate their birthdays together from then on, but Shao Mingsheng's seventeenth birthday was the only one they ever spent together. For all the days after that, Xu Xihan could only look at the things he left behind and remember him. They promised to stay together forever, but they didn't even get a year together. At thirteen, the sensitive, insecure girl met a boy with no tomorrow, cool and aloof on the outside but soft-hearted within. She slowly drew closer to him, and in high school they became friends. He helped her overcome her insecurity. He thought he'd only done a little thing and saw her as a younger sister, but in Xu Xihan's heart, he had become the one and only. To help him fulfill his seven wishes, she was willing to give up her own dream and become a heart specialist. Shao Mingsheng wanted to celebrate Xu Xihan's birthday with her, but he died on August 23, 2010, just two days before her birthday. Brother Mingsheng, even though you never loved me, I will remember you forever. Because you told me, “Xu Taiyang, you must always shine brightly!” A healing, tragic unrequited-love story.
