Espionage: I Have the Ability to Read Minds

Amid the artillery fire of the 1937 Battle of Shanghai, Chen Mo, a dockworker in Shanghai, discovered a strange ability: by looking at the reflection of a gas canister in a Japanese expatriate's pupil, he could see their most secret memories. From the degree of silver corrosion on a police whistle alone, he could even deduce the Japanese army's troop rotation patterns. This mind-reading ability helped him navigate the bloodshed of isolated Shanghai, from cracking the bank robbery tied to the “Sakura Plan” to exposing the location of a secret fuel depot at Hongqiao Airport. Before long, he became a legend on the underground front.
