Lin Mo, a sword prodigy from the Central Plains martial world, was struck by a bolt of purple lightning and fell off a cliff during the Mount Hua Sword Meet. By chance, he transmigrated to Misty Island in the East Blue, in the world of One Piece. He had lost his sword, “Waterbreaker,” and had only a Flowing Cloud jade pendant left. Though lightly wounded, his inner strength remained intact. On arriving in this otherworld, he was first attacked by the Ironfang Pirates. He easily subdued them with Central Plains martial arts, yet knew nothing about “pirates” or the “Great Pirate Era.” Later, he watched the Red-Haired Pirates' ship approach and realized he was in a completely unfamiliar world, full of unknown dangers.
