“If you don’t have the right qualifications, don’t waste both our time. You don’t meet the basic requirements for this position. You can go.” The interviewer’s voice was sharp and cold, like a bitter north wind in the dead of winter, cutting straight into Lin Yue’s heart and blowing away her last shred of hope. Lin Yue bit down hard on her lower lip, her eyes reddening as she fought back tears. Without a word, she stood up and trudged heavily out of the interview room.
