Great Qin: The Rise of the Iron-Blooded Butcher

Twenty years ago, the State of Qin was in turmoil. After Prince Zheng's beloved, the Lady Afang, gave birth to a son, she passed away. The child should have been the fruit of their love, bringing boundless joy, but the mysterious Yin-Yang School divined that he bore Heaven's punishment and was surrounded by curses. At the time, King Zhuangxiang of Qin was preoccupied with the realm and feared the child would bring disaster. Without Prince Zheng's knowledge, he ordered the State Preceptor to have the boy secretly executed. On that stormy night, a suffocating gloom hung over the entire city of Xianyang. No one could have imagined that Bai Qi, the empire's god of slaughter, would sneak into the State Preceptor's residence like a ghost. Agile and nimble, he slipped past the layers of guards and carefully carried a baby out of a secret chamber. Why did Bai Qi save the child? Was it out of pity, or was there another reason? All of it was buried deep in the dust of history, along with the image of him departing. Time flew by, and twenty years passed in the blink of an eye. During that time, under Ying Zheng's leadership, Qin swept through its enemies. "The six kings were vanquished, and the four seas united," and a unified Qin Empire stood proudly in the East. Ying Zheng, the emperor for the ages, climbed step by step to the Star-Picking Tower, the highest part of Afang Palace, his body showing signs of weariness. He gazed down at the boundless lands of Qin, with their magnificent mountains and rivers, rows of cities, and bustling people. Yet deep in his heart lingered an indescribable regret: his longing for the Lady Afang, and his sorrow over a love that had never found its happy ending.
