A New Chronicle of the Dream of the Red Chamber

Preface to "New Notes on a Dream of Red Mansions" From the moment I opened "A Dream of Red Mansions", I plunged headlong into a world full of flowers but with hidden sadness. After reading it repeatedly over the years, I have become more and more aware of the depth and weight of this masterpiece. Every time I read it, I can discover new insights. At the same time, I have also noticed the confusion of many readers when interpreting it. Therefore, the idea of writing "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions" quietly sprouted in my heart. The charm of "Dream of Red Mansions" largely stems from Mr. Cao Xueqin's unique writing techniques. He is good at tracing the gray lines of the past and tracing the threads of thousands of miles. The poems, objects, and words of the characters in the book may all be hidden foreshadowing, hinting at the fate of the characters and the development of the story. However, this also creates comprehension difficulties for many readers. Those obscure metaphors and complex character relationships are like layers of fog, which deter many people from understanding this work. I hope that through "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions", I can use easy-to-understand language to clearly present the hidden plots and backgrounds in the original work. For example, Xiang Ling's sentence "A fragrant stem with a lotus root has been hurt by reality throughout her life. Ever since a lonely tree grew in two places, the fragrant soul returned to its hometown", which hints at her tragic fate of being tortured to death by Xia Jingui. I will analyze this judgment in detail in the book and combine it with Xiang Ling's life experience to let readers understand the profound meaning contained in Mr. Cao Xueqin's few words. Characters are the soul of "A Dream of Red Mansions". Every character in Mr. Cao Xueqin's works, whether the protagonist or the supporting role, has a distinct and unique personality. Jia Baoyu's rebelliousness, Lin Daiyu's sensitivity, Xue Baochai's sophistication, Wang Xifeng's shrewdness... These character traits are delicately displayed in the original work through the characters' words, deeds, and psychological activities. But sometimes, due to the differences in era background and the complexity of the original plot, readers may have difficulty fully capturing the subtleties of these characters. In "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions", I tried to reveal the reasons for the formation of their characters and their influence on their destiny through in-depth interpretation of the characters' behaviors. For example, Wang Xifeng's strength and ruthlessness are closely related to her position in Jia's family and the complex interpersonal relationships she faces. I will conduct an in-depth analysis of her growing environment and life experiences so that readers can better understand this complex and multifaceted character. At the same time, I also boldly used modern techniques to rewrite the fate of some characters. This is not disrespectful to the original work, but comes from a good wish deep in my heart. In that era of strict feudal ethics, most of the characters in Dream of Red Mansions were unable to control their own destiny, and were ruthlessly carried by the torrent of the times towards a tragic ending. I hope that by changing the fate of some characters, readers can see another possibility and feel the power of hope. For example, in "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions", I allowed Shi Xiangyun to escape the tragic fate of widowhood in the original work. With her intelligence and tenacity, she learned how to do business and eventually lived an independent and free life. This change is not only a reinterpretation of the character's destiny, but also an echo of the independent spirit of modern women. I sincerely hope that "New Notes on a Dream of Red Mansions" can become a bridge to help more readers cross the barriers of time and space and enter the world of "A Dream of Red Mansions". While appreciating the charm of the original work, everyone can also re-examine this classic from a modern perspective and feel its enduring cultural value. Savor it carefully and read it with a unique flavor

Looking for new light in the old dream of Red Mansions——Comment on Tianmeng Piaoxiang "New Notes of Dream of Red Mansions" "A paper full of absurd words, a handful of bitter tears. It is said that the author is crazy, who can understand the meaning?" Cao Xueqin's "Dream of Red Mansions" is like a majestic literary monument, standing in the long river of history, attracting countless future generations to study and continue to write. Tian Meng Piao Xiang's "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions" is a unique presence in this vast wave of sequels to Red Mansions. With its original conception and delicate brushwork, it outlines a different outline of the world of Red Mansions. "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions" boldly innovates in plot structure, but is also cleverly rooted in the soil of the original work. The author does not limit himself to the traditional continuation of the love story between sons and daughters, but takes a different approach. For example, in the story, Jia Baoyu accidentally got involved in the business world after experiencing the rise and fall of his family. This setting seems quite novel at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you can find its profound meaning. In the original work, the gradual decline of the Jia family's economy is one of the important reasons for its decline. Jia Baoyu's involvement in the business world can be seen to some extent as an attempt to save the fate of the family and a bold breakthrough in the traditional life trajectory of the children of feudal aristocrats. This plot arrangement is like tearing a hole in the decaying old world and letting in a new dawn. It not only inherits the criticism of the feudal system in the original work, but also shows the exploration of the new direction of the character's destiny. It is a brave challenge to the traditional continuation mode. In terms of character creation, Tian Meng Piao Xiang's "The People in Red Mansions" not only retains the charm of the original work, but is also given new vitality. Lin Daiyu is no longer just the weak, sentimental woman who sheds tears all day long. In "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions", she shows her tenacity and courage. Faced with the predicament of the Jia family, she actively made suggestions and tried to use her wisdom to help the family overcome the difficulties. This change is not sudden, but a reasonable extension based on the in-depth exploration of Lin Daiyu's character. In the original work, although Lin Daiyu is frail and sick, she has outstanding talents and a keen mind. She has her own sense of resistance to feudal ethics. She in the new notes externalizes this inner strength, allowing readers to see a more three-dimensional and vivid Lin Daiyu. This way of character creation not only respects the original fans' emotional understanding of the classic characters, but also satisfies readers' curiosity about the possibilities of character development. In terms of language style, "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions" strives to be consistent with the original work. The author cleverly uses poetry and songs to add a strong classical charm to the story. For example, a poem written by Lin Daiyu in the Poetry Society: "The cold plum blossoms reflect the snow, and the rhyme is long, and the thin shadows stand against the frost. I look for old dreams alone, and express my sorrow with poetry." This poem not only fits Lin Daiyu's character in rhythm and artistic conception, but also shows the author's profound literary skills. At the same time, the book describes life scenes in detail, from the food and daily life of the Jia family to festival celebrations, all of them are vividly written, making readers feel as if they have traveled through time and space and are in the prosperous and complicated world of Red Mansions. However, in the narration of some modern plots, the connection of language is a bit stiff, and the use of modern vocabulary occasionally breaks the creation of a classical atmosphere. This may be a small flaw that is unavoidable in the process of integrating ancient and modern times. From the perspective of cultural connotation, "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions" inherits the original work's in-depth discussion of feudal ethics, the rise and fall of families, and the good and evil of human nature. Through new plots and character fates, the decadent nature of feudal society and the struggle and resistance of individuals in the torrent of fate are further explored. The book also incorporates some modern ideas and concepts, such as thoughts on female independence and the realization of personal values, which makes the ancient story of the Red Mansion shine with the light of the new era. This is like adding a new medicinal material to a traditional Chinese medicine prescription. While retaining the original medicinal effect, it enhances its nourishing effect on modern readers. Tian Meng Piao Xiang's "A New Story of a Dream of Red Mansions" is a masterpiece with flaws that do not hide its merits. With its innovative plot, vivid characters, beautiful language and profound cultural connotation, it has opened up a new path for the continuation of Red Mansions. Although there are some minor shortcomings, they do not affect its unique status in the hearts of fans of red science. As Mr. Lu Xun said: "Without pioneers who break through all traditional ideas and techniques, there will be no real new literature and art in China." "New Notes of a Dream of Red Mansions" is such a brave pioneer who has created a new world of his own in the field of Red Mansions literature.

The writing is good, but there are too few chapters in the new novel. I want to save more to read, but the author should not stop updating!

It's really good and novel. Good luck to the author. I am a fan of Dai, and I like novels with single-minded emotions, but I still feel regretful at the ending.
