You and Time, My Love for a Lifetime

Cao Lingxiao and Liu Lingshan had been childhood sweethearts. His father was the head of the local power supply station, while his mother worked at the same company as Liu Lingshan's mother, serving as the director of the logistics department. He also had a younger sister, Cao Zhiruo, who was eight years younger than him. Liu Lingshan's father was the union chairman of a state-owned enterprise, and her mother was a workshop supervisor. Their parents were close friends. He had watched her grow up, and because he was eight years older than Liu Lingshan and his own sister, and both sets of parents were busy with work, taking the girls to and from school every day became one of his regular duties. She, in turn, became the little shadow he couldn't do without. But when he grew up, he went to university in the north, and later his parents' jobs took them elsewhere, so he left her behind. Liu Lingshan studied early childhood education and moved to Shenzhen for work after graduation. The two lost touch. Years later, during the Spring Festival, Cao Lingxiao returned to the mountain town with his parents, who missed their old friends, Liu Lingshan's parents. He asked around for news of her and her family. By then, the town was no longer the place he remembered. It was filled with high-rises, and Liu Lingshan's family had moved into the city because of her parents' job transfer. Just as Cao Lingxiao and his family were about to give up, they ran into an old neighbor. With his help, Cao Lingxiao finally got Liu Lingshan's new address. He had no choice but to drive his parents into the city and knock on her door. When Liu Lingshan opened it and saw her big brother and his family, she warmly welcomed them in. He silently watched her, lively and bright as ever, and felt the missing piece in his heart finally fall back into place. From then on, he set out to win her back.
