The Physician's Herbal Fragrance: My Assassin Husband Spoils Me Rotten

[Traditional historical romance + Wei-Jin atmosphere + mutual salvation + family life + sweet romance, no angst]

The heroine is gentle and kind, but not a pushover. The hero is cold and clever, and loves getting jealous. He's an extremely jealous man. (The heroine is a year older than the hero, so it's an older-woman-younger-man romance.)

The main story: Fan Lichu is disliked by her family because of a red birthmark on her shoulder, so she is fostered by the Lin family, whose members have practiced medicine for generations. She learns medicine from her maternal grandaunt and treats patients at the family clinic, helping people in need. By chance, she saves Pei Qingji, who has been poisoned, and the two become acquainted. Pei Qingji is the top-ranked assassin in the Golden Pavilion. Cold and proud, he falls in love with this beautiful, gentle young woman. From then on, a loyal “puppy” appears outside the Lin family clinic, keeping his eyes on Fan Lichu every day.

When Pei Qingji first meets Fan Lichu, he shyly calls her “young lady,” his face as red as an apple.

Later, he clings to her all day, saying, “Big sister, cuddle me,” and at bedtime he says, “Kisses, precious.”

Though their social standing is worlds apart, the two face hardship without fear and run toward each other with equal devotion.

For the sake of the plot, historical accuracy is not a concern. If you like sweet romances, older-woman-younger-man romances, or puppy-like heroes, don't miss this one.
