Siheyuan: Starting Life Again in 1961

Gu Jiangyue transmigrates into the world of Vermin-Filled Courtyard and, from the start, finds the neighbors eyeing his house. Yi Zhonghai says, “Little Gu, the Jia family has five people squeezed into one room. Wouldn't it be nice to let them have one of your rooms?” Gu Jiangyue goes straight to the police and teaches the Jia family how to behave. Yan Bugui says, “Little Gu, that's a lot of meat. Are you throwing a feast for the whole courtyard?” Gu Jiangyue replies, “Get lost! Why don't you bring out your own family's grain and treat everyone?” Faced with the neighbors' unreasonable antics, Gu Jiangyue fights back without hesitation and never lets a slight go unanswered. Years later, the neighbors are living in misery, while Gu Jiangyue is headed straight for a happy life.
