Don’t Run, Uncle Who Can’t Hear

When Shang Sihan was eighteen, he was involved in a car accident that took his mother's life. He suffered serious injuries to his head and legs, leaving him with hearing loss. He was fitted with hearing aids, but took them off when he was alone. Changes in the weather made it difficult for him to get around, so he relied on a wheelchair. A business prodigy, he built his own empire independently, without relying on the Shang family's influence. Shang Sihan was nine years older than Wen Nuannuan. When he was nine, his mother arranged a childhood betrothal for him and exchanged betrothal tokens with the other family: a pair of dragon-and-phoenix jade pendants. When Wen Nuannuan was three, both her parents died in a car accident, and she was sent to an orphanage. Later, a couple adopted her. Three years after that, her adoptive parents and their son died in another car accident. Her maternal grandparents took her in, so she did not have to return to the orphanage. The three of them depended on one another. On Nuannuan's twentieth birthday, her grandfather fell while going to buy a cake and was run over by Shang Ziqi's car. With his connections, Shang Ziqi fabricated evidence and escaped punishment. Her grandmother was so devastated by her grandfather's sudden death that she fell gravely ill and passed away six months later. Her uncle and aunt often came to demand money from Nuannuan to pay off their gambling debts. Her cousin often tried to molest her. The childhood engagement between them was forgotten after both their mothers passed away. But Shang Sihan had quietly continued looking for news of Wen Nuannuan. When Nuannuan's grandfather from the capital found her and brought her back into the family, she was threatened into taking someone else's place in a marriage to the Shang family's most useless cripple. After marrying Shang Sihan, the two went from strangers to acquaintances. After facing one difficult situation after another, they came to understand and love each other, and built a happy life together.
