The County Princess Has Arrived

On the day the Heir of the Marquis of Wu'an came to my home with betrothal gifts, his cousin, dressed in a bright red wedding gown, tried to hang herself at the marquis's estate.

After she was rescued, she sobbed, "I only want to spend my whole life with Cousin, just the two of us."

Heartbroken, the heir left the betrothal gifts behind and rushed back to save the woman he loved.

With tears in my eyes, I threw myself into my father's arms. "Father, please stand up for me."

My father waved his hand grandly. "Is my daughter ever going to have trouble finding a husband?" He grabbed one of the marquis's sons, a secondary son who had come along to deliver the betrothal gifts.

Then he pushed him in front of me. "You're the one!"

I took one look at the young man's face. Excellent!

If the heir wanted to break off the engagement, then we'd just find someone else to be the heir.
