The middle-aged man everyone called Old Sha ran a mutton rice-noodle shop that was steadily going downhill, and lived with his family in a rented place. There was no great love between him and his wife; they were just making do. Their eight-year-old daughter still had not started school, and rumors were spreading through the neighborhood. When the shop went under and their livelihood disappeared, their conflicts finally erupted. After the argument ended, he curled up on the cold sofa. His cigarette pack was empty, and, exhausted, he drifted into a long, uncertain dream.
Art comes from life. The Chronicles of Sha Pi is adapted from the author's own experiences and true stories from people around them. It depicts life and reality, telling the story of one person's first half of life and vividly portraying life's full range of joys and sorrows. I hope you enjoy it and will show your support.
