Feng Ying, the only daughter of the Huaxu clan leader, was told from childhood that she was a spirit child conceived when her mother sensed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, and that she had no father.

“I don’t believe it. I’m going to find my father.” Little Feng Ying leaves the Kingdom of Huaxu and sets out on her quest.

After crossing mountains and seas, she still hasn’t found her father, but she meets a group of friends.

Synopsis, Version Two: In ancient times, the God of Thunder chose to perish in order to seal away evil spirits. The Goddess of the Nine Rivers died for love, and her divine body became a cursed river that trapped the ancient evil spirits on Mount Huaxu. Later, the Huaxu clan built a temple to the goddess atop the seal’s cursed-water formation, and guarded the ancient evil spirits for generations.

Years later, Feng Ying, the only daughter of the Huaxu clan leader, accidentally leaves the Kingdom of Huaxu and meets Fang Leisheng, the reincarnation of the God of Thunder. The two journey into Kunlun, meet Yun Yi and Chu Yao, subdue a thunder beast, and learn the truth about Fang Leisheng’s origins. They leave Kunlun and set out to find the scattered souls of the ancient God of Thunder. Along the way, they make many friends, including Xuan Mu, the Wolf Demon King, and a prince of Xuanyuan. With the Shan Hai Map, they slay demons and beasts, brave an imperial tomb, enter immortal mountains, and collect soul pearls. As they cross mountains and seas, their feelings for each other grow. After Huaxu holds a contest for a husband, the two pledge themselves to each other, but a prophecy of Huaxu forces them apart.

The demon clan seeks to free the ancient demon spirits and steal the sacred maiden’s spirit stone, which can open the sealing formation. They ambush Feng Ying, and Fang Leisheng dies shielding her from an arrow. The Huaxu clan revives him with the Thunder God pearls they have collected. The two enter the Bodhi illusion and relive the events of their past lives, coming to understand the mission they must fulfill.

With the ancient demon spirits on the verge of breaking free, Feng Ying and Fang Leisheng use the same method as in their past lives to seal them again. With everyone’s help, the two find a different ending.
