Mo Di, a former special forces soldier who had joined the public security system after retiring, made a mistake during a mission and was buried alive by criminals. His soul then transmigrated into the body of Mo Di, a hot-blooded young man being beaten up in 1937. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a scene that set his blood racing, driving him into a frenzy. He killed four Japanese samurai in a counterattack and rescued the woman who had spoken up for him. Just after escaping danger, Mo Di caught someone’s eye and was recruited into an anti-Japanese guerrilla unit, where he took part in resistance operations. Starting as a squad leader in charge of just over a dozen people, Mo Di excelled at one mission after another, assassinating Japanese spies and gathering intelligence. He steadily expanded his forces and worked alongside the regular army to support its operations on the Songhu battlefield. When seven hundred thousand regular troops withdrew from Shanghai, Mo Di received orders to lead his unit in bringing up the rear. They held off the Japanese in Nanshi for five days and nights, then eventually withdrew into the International Settlement to continue operating behind enemy lines...
