My Boyfriend Wants Me to Die

Five years after we broke up, my ex-boyfriend acquired the company I work for and became my direct superior overnight. I spent several sleepless nights on a project proposal, nearly working myself to death, only for him to hand it off to someone else with a single word. My team was split up, and I became his cautionary example for criticizing employees, a laughingstock among my colleagues. Lu Sheng said this was the price I had to pay for betraying him. I asked what it would take for him to let me go. He replied, “It’s either you or me.” Despairing of everything, I plunged a knife into my heart right in front of him. This wretched life should have ended long ago!
