At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the dragon veins are severed, natural disasters strike without end, and warlords rise up everywhere. Recluses across the land descend from their mountains, hoping to help the warlords pacify the chaos.
While Zhang Jue, the Great Sage and Good Teacher, is helping disaster victims, he encounters a shooting star and realizes that the time is ripe for an uprising.
Just then, Old Zhang, a Daoist priest outside the Eastern Capital of Luoyang, finds an orphan and names him Zhang Shun, taking him in as his adopted son. And so the story begins.
I rarely read the Three Kingdoms series, so I recommend it.
