Witchcraft Academy

According to ancient tradition passed down from Nuwa and Fuxi, women are called wu, while men are called xi. This story follows the creation of the world by Pangu. His body transformed into all things, the parasites on his body became various great demons, and his special organs gave birth to divine artifacts. Later, Nuwa and Fuxi protected humanity through the great flood and taught them witchcraft, medicine, divination, smelting, music, and other arts. Those who founded the Wu Clan protected the surviving human race. Within the clan, men were called xi and mainly inherited Fuxi's arts of divination, smelting, and music. Women were called wu and inherited witchcraft and medicine. As time passed, demons ran rampant, especially the zombie race led by the Four Great Corpse Ancestors, who waged an endless war against humanity. Witchcraft became increasingly important among humans, and men stopped practicing Fuxi's arts and began focusing entirely on witchcraft. Little by little, fewer people inherited the Pangu bloodline passed down by Fuxi. As the Four Great Corpse Ancestors successively fell into slumber, the primordial era drew to a close. Yu the Great founded the Xia dynasty and passed it on to his son Qi, ushering in the age of dynasties. The hundred demons fell silent, and humanity took a different path of development, with human effort gradually becoming the norm. The bloodline of the Wu Clan began to mix into the great families. Though it grew diluted, it never disappeared. Five thousand years later, the Four Great Corpse Ancestors were on the verge of awakening, and the hundred demons of the world began stirring once more. In the late Qing and early Republican era, China faced a time of crisis. It was also when cracks appeared in the seals imprisoning the Four Great Corpse Ancestors. Demons ran rampant, and the corpse race rose again. Members of the Wu Clan bloodlines from the Ji and Jiang families founded the “Wushen Academy.” Its purpose was to gather those across China who still carried the bloodline of the Wu Clan, educate and train them as a new Wu Clan, and carry on their ancestors' legacy of protecting Nuwa by safeguarding the survival of humanity.
