Synopsis

This book is based on the story of Xuanzang, a monk from the Tang Dynasty, who went to the West for Buddhist scriptures. It incorporates strong magical, romantic and grotesque elements, and writes the theme of Buddhist scriptures into a mythical story. The storyline of "Journey to the West" is really exciting! The birth of Sun Wukong is full of magic. He jumped out of the stone and was resourceful and brave. Especially the part where he jumps into the waterfall to find the source is eye-catching. The descriptions in the book are delicate and nuanced, making me feel as if I was actually there. This novel is both interesting and literary, and well worth reading.
