It tells the story of Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Monk, and White Dragon Horse during the Zhenguan period of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty. They protected Tang Monk on his journey to the west to obtain Buddhist scriptures. They went through hardships along the way, subdued demons along the way, averted dangers, and finally reached the West and obtained the scriptures. The full text of the book is adapted, retaining the main clue of the original work, and on this basis, through compression, deletion, and the use of modern vernacular novel language, it is rewritten into 50 chapters to present the main characters and classic storyline. The book is equipped with illustrations of "Journey to the West" painted by people from the Qing Dynasty, making the book layout exquisite and more ornamental.
